SHEBERGHAN (SW) – Officials at the Directorate of Repatriations and Refugees (DoRR) in Jowzjan report that 70 women who completed a vocational training workshop have been provided with work equipment.

According to officials, the directorate, in collaboration with partner organizations, has distributed work tools and equipment worth nearly 2.5 million afghanis to these women.

Abdul Wali Mosafer, the Director of Repatriations and Reintegration, said that these women had completed a four-month training course in sewing, embroidery, and tailoring.

“The provided equipment includes manual and electric sewing machines, work tables with chairs, irons, and other essential tools for sewing, embroidery, and tailoring,” he added.

The primary aim of this training program and equipment distribution is to create job opportunities and enhance the economic well-being of the women.

Many of the women who completed the training expressed their gratitude towards the Directorate of Repatriations and Refugees in Jowzjan and the partner organizations.

They noted that they previously faced economic difficulties, but now, with their new skills and equipment, they are better able to meet their families’ financial needs.

It is worth mentioning that handicrafts are growing in Jowzjan, with numerous workshops in sewing, tailoring, carpet weaving, and rug weaving being run by women in the province.
