KABUL (SW) – Officials from the Ministry of Public Health have announced the commencement of a special polio vaccination campaign across five Afghan provinces.
Sharafat Zaman Amarkhil, the spokesperson for the ministry, said that the campaign began on Saturday, in Kandahar, Helmand, Uruzgan, Zabul, and Herat provinces.
The spokesperson noted that the campaign will run for four days.
This campaign aims to vaccinate approximately 2.4 million children under the age of five against polio.
They have called upon parents, religious scholars, and local leaders to cooperate with the ministry’s vaccinators in ensuring the successful implementation of the campaign in these provinces.
