Recently, ISIS’s Khorasan branch claimed responsibility for the Sunday blast in Dasht-e Barchi area through a statement on its Aimaq Telegram channel.

This claim comes despite Zabihullah Mujahid, spokesperson for the Islamic Emirate, dismissing Western and organizational concerns about the rising presence of ISIS in Afghanistan and their increasing threats as baseless and propaganda.

Mujahid asserted that the Islamic Emirate’s security forces are actively combating ISIS in Afghanistan and have severely suppressed the group.
