Polio immunization campaign to be launched on Saturday

KABUL (SW) – A four-day polio vaccination campaign will start on Saturday, in several provinces of Afghanistan.

This announcement was made on Thursday, via a statement on the ‘Polio Free Afghanistan’ organization’s X official account.

Abdul Qodus Baryalai, head of the Polio Eradication Operations Center at the Ministry of Public Health, told Salam Watandar that the campaign will last for four days in Herat, Uruzgan, Helmand, Kandahar, Zabul, Balk and Nimroz.

During this period, 2.4 million children under the age of five will be vaccinated.

This marks the fifth round of the anti-polio vaccination campaign in Afghanistan since the beginning of the current year.
