KAZAN, TATARSTAN (SW) – The 15th International Economic Forum of the Islamic World and Russia has been commenced on Tuesday, in Kazan, the capital of republic of Tatarstan.
The summit, scheduled to continue until the May 19, features a delegation from Afghanistan.
The Islamic Emirate’s Ministry of Commerce and Industry announced that the delegation, led by Acting Minister Nooruddin Azizi, alongside participating in the forum, would also engage meetings with delegations from other countries and business leaders to attract investment in Afghanistan.
Akhundzada Abdul Salam Javad, the spokesperson for the ministry, stated: “The Afghan delegation, in addition to participating in this gathering, will meet with officials from Russia and Tatarstan, representatives of other countries, and major companies to facilitate trade, promote investment, and attract investment.”
Experts emphasize the significance of Afghanistan’s presence at such forums, given the country’s economic situation. They also highlight the importance of attracting investment by presenting opportunities available in Afghanistan during these events.
Economic expert, Abdul Nasir Rashtia, says: “The more Afghan representatives participate in these forums, the more it can help resolve our political issues and strengthen our strategic economic relations.”
Another analyst, Zaher Behzad, also told Salam Watandar: “Investors from countries participating in this forum will become aware of the opportunities available in Afghanistan.”
Despite facing political restrictions globally, the Islamic Emirate is striving to enhance its economic relations, particularly with Islamic countries and regional neighbors.
