UN establishes vocational training centers for women in Bamyan

BAMYAN CITY (SW) – Abdullah Sarhadi, the governor of Bamyan, says that two vocational training centers for sewing, embroidery, and beadwork have been established to support women in this province.

He adds that by establishing these centers, the opportunity for learning skills has been provided to 480 women in Yakawlang District No. 1 and Bamyan Center.

Sarhadi specifies that the construction of these two centers has incurred over 34 million Afghanis in expenses, which have been paid by the United Nations Entity for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women (UN Women) organization.

The governor of Bamyan emphasizes that local officials in this province have no interference in adjusting the projects of institutions and strive to provide job opportunities for women.
