KUNDUZ CITY (SW) – Work has begun on a new school for children in Kunduz with the financial backing of a charity organization.
Mohammad Ismail Abu Ahmad, the head of Education Directorate in Kunduz, said that the construction work for this school in “Chinizi” village of Kunduz city, the center of this province, has started.
He added that this school, which has six classrooms and a recreation center, will be built with the financial backing of the “Mohammed Qais Arghandiwal” Foundation at the cost of seven million Afghanis.
The head of education department in Kunduz emphasized that with the construction of this school, the problems of 80% of students in Kunduz city will be solved.
According to the statistics of the Kunduz Directorate of Education, there are 240 schools in this province, of which 160 schools need proper buildings.
Last year, the buildings of 60 schools were renovated by the Islamic Emirate and relief organizations.
