Islamic Emirate, two nations sign CASA-1000 Project contract

KABUL (SW) – The Islamic Emirate officials announced that the contract for the CASA-1000 project, is signed between Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, and Afghanistan on Friday.

According to Zabihullah Mujahid, the spokesperson of the Islamic Emirate, the practical work of the CASA-1000 project will be started next month, and the World Bank will pay its cost.

Earlier, the World Bank announced that under the new approach of this bank to support Afghans, the CASA-1000 electricity transmission project would be resumed in Afghanistan.

CASA-1000 is a project to transfer electricity from Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan to Pakistan through Afghanistan.
