Pakistan’s PM dismisses threat from Afghanistan: IE responds positively

KABUL (SW) – Anwar-ul-Haq Kakar, the Prime Minister of Pakistan in the interim government, made noteworthy comments in a recent media interview, contradicting his previous statements, asserting that there is no threat from Afghanistan to Pakistan.

Zabihullah Mujahid, the spokesperson for the de-facto government of Afghanistan, expressed positive sentiments regarding Kakar’s statements, telling Salaam Watandar that the Prime Minister’s recent remarks were commendable and could be advantageous for both nations.

Mujahid emphasizes on resolving issues through dialogue and bilateral work between the two countries. “There were statements that can bring both countries closer together. Accusations are not the solution. Problems should be solved through dialogue. Both countries should unite their views against problems and dangers,” he said.

Political experts are optimistic that recent statements by Pakistan’s Prime Minister indicate progress in resolving problems and security issues between Afghanistan and Pakistan.

Abdul Shakur Dadras, a political analyst, comments, “We consider it good and for the benefit of the people of both countries. This approach is positive.”

This comes despite earlier reports in Pakistani media indicating that Pakistan, along with Russia, China, and Iran, expressed concerns to the Islamic Emirate about the activities of terrorist groups in Afghanistan during a recent regional cooperation meeting in Kabul.

Some experts express concerns about the dual approach and policies of the government of Pakistan.

Sadeq Shinwari, an expert in political and security issues, comments, “I think that the Afghans and the Islamic Emirate know that these statements of Mr. Kakar are not honest, and there may be another scenario behind this.”

It is noteworthy that the Islamic Emirate has not provided responses to questions from Salam Watandar regarding the shared concerns of the four countries about the activities of terrorist groups in Afghanistan.
