MONITORING (SW) – The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) in Afghanistan, has said that 266,800 earthquake victims in Herat have received humanitarian aids.
OCHA reported on Tuesday, 21 October that aid agencies have distributed cash, tents, blankets, and shelter reconstruction packages to the victims of the earthquake.
According to the report, emergency food aid was provided to 110,33 people, nutritious food was provided to 64,512 boys and girls under the age of five, and basic health aid was provided to 60,256 people.
The report adds that 16,169 earthquake-affected families received tents and 19,652 families were given more than five million dollars in cash aid.
OCHA also says that 21,017 families received non-food items, 13,101 families received blankets, and 11,782 families received shelter reconstruction packages.
In the last two months, 119 thousand women and girls have been distributed feminine hygiene packages, according to OCHA.
