Dozens killed as Israel renews Gaza war, aid convoys stop

MONITORING (SW) – Dozens of people have been killed and hundreds wounded as Israel resumed its assaults on the Gaza Strip, after a week-long truce expired.

More than 180 people have been killed and almost 600 others injured in the first day of Israel’s renewed bombing of Gaza, according to Palestinian officials.

Updated reports from Gaza, show that at least 200 people have been killed in Israeli bombing.

Since the breakdown of the truce in Gaza, aid trucks have been stuck at the Rafah crossing on the Egyptian border.

As of Friday evening, no aid convoys or fuel trucks had entered Gaza and the evacuation of wounded people to Egypt was halted amid the renewed attacks, the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (UNOCHA) also reports in its latest situation assessment.

According to the reports, humanitarian aid trucks carrying supplies including food, medicine and fuel to UN locations are expected to enter Gaza in limited quantities today.
