MONITORING (SW) – Bilal Karimi, former deputy spokesperson of the Islamic Emirate, has been accepted as the ambassador of Afghanistan in Beijing, the capital of China, according to the Islamic Emirate authorities.
Determining this representation and interaction with China is an important step towards the recognition of the Islamic Emirate, says Zabihullah Mujahid, the spokesman of the Islamic Emirate.
“Mr. Karimi, handed over a copy of his credential to the Chinese Foreign Minister and started working yesterday. His presence there will be a good representation between the two countries. Previously, they had appointed their ambassador and this is an important step for recognition of the Islamic Emirate. The official interaction which is done by China, is a start and a message to other countries to take similar measures, also ensures the diplomatic contacts in this regard.” He said.
Bilal Karimi, the first ambassador of the Islamic Emirate in China, visited this country in November 24. He has been accepted as the ambassador of Afghanistan in Beijing, according to statement issued on Friday by the spokesperson of the de-facto government.
Hong Li, the Chief of Protocols of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China, called this action an important step in the development of bilateral relations during the submission of the credentials of the ambassador of the Islamic Emirate to this country. He added that China wants to support Afghanistan in economic and infrastructure projects within the framework of “One Road and One Belt”.
Analysts also believe that the exchange of ambassadors between China and Afghanistan is beneficial to both sides, and on the other hand, it can provide a platform for Afghanistan to get out of political and economic isolation.
After the Islamic Emirate came to power, China was one of the few countries that interacted with the de-facto government, and in the past two years, it has established growing economic relations with Afghanistan, and two months ago, it introduced Zhao Xing as its ambassador to this country. He received his credentials from the Islamic Emirate’s Prime Minister’s Office.
