900 motorcycles confiscated in Kabul due to lack of documents

KABUL (SW) – Officials at the General Directorate of Traffic Police of the Ministry of Interior report the confiscation of 900 motorcycles lacking proper documentation in Kabul city. These motorcycles have been transferred to the police station.

They further mention that the process to collect motorcycles without documents commenced three days ago.

Tamim-Ahmad Esmati, the administrative deputy of the General Directorate of Traffic Police at the Ministry of Interior, says that henceforth, motorcycles without proper documentation will not be permitted to roam within Kabul city.

He adds: “The process of collecting undocumented motorcycles in Kabul city has started since three days and these motorcycles have been traveling to the customs office and they have been notified several times by the traffic department to get a tour permit from the traffic department; but they ignored it. We started this process and in the last few days, we have collected 900 motorbikes and they have been transferred to Police Town.”

According to the officials at the General Directorate of Traffic Police of the Ministry of Interior, the process of collecting motorcycles without documents has started in all provinces.
