Hospital in Logar overwhelmed by the number of patients

PUL-E-ALAM (SW) – The main public hospital in Logar is overwhelmed by the number of patients needing necessary healthcare.

A number of patients at Naib Aminullah Khan Logari provincial hospital in Logar told Salam Watandar that the number of patients hospitalized in this hospital has doubled compared to the past and the facilities available for patients in the provincial hospital are not enough.

They add that “Naib Aminullah Khan Logari” hospital does not have enough space to admit and treat patients and is also facing a shortage of doctors and medicine.

Asmatullah, a patient in Naib Aminullah Khan Logri provincial hospital, says: “My wish is to build a regular place for patients in the provincial hospital, increase the number of beds, expand the hospital and provide services to the hospital. . Five patients have been placed in a room made for one patient.”

Tala Khan, another patient at Naib Aminullah Khan Logri provincial hospital, also says: “I came here from Bakhshabad area of Pul-e-Alam city, my grandson is sick. The hospital is very small; patients are facing many problems. Our request is that they increase the number of hospital beds.”

Najibullah, who came to the provincial hospital from Khushi district, says that the people’s economy has weakened compared to the past, and because of this, the number of patients in government hospitals and health centers in has increased.

He adds that the Ministry of Public Health should take care of the problems of patients and patients in “Naib Aminullah Khan Logari” hospital.

Najibullah emphasized: “I came from Khushi district to do surgery. The number of patients in this hospital has increased; because people’s economy has weakened and medicine and services are free in government hospitals. There should be more doctors, the number of beds should be increased, and the electricity problem in this hospital should be solved.”

On the other hand, Gul Islam Baraki, the deputy of the 150-bed “Naib Aminullah Khan Logari” hospital, says that this hospital is facing the problem of non-standard building.

He adds that an average of 1,200 patients from Mohammad Agha, Baraki Barak, Charkh and Khushi districts of this province visit the 150-bed “Naib Aminullah Khan Logari” hospital and the available facilities are not enough for them.

The deputy director of the 150-bed hospital “Naib Aminullah Khan Logari” states: “We do not have a standard building, we do not have facilities for examination. The number of patients in the hospital has increased, 1,200 have visited in the past day. Basically, this number should be around 600. Now there are 100 patients on the beds, which are women, men and children.”

However, Fahimullah Ludin, the spokesperson of Logar Public Health Department, told Salam Watandar that he has discussed the problems of Naib Aminullah Khan Logari provincial hospital with the Ministry of Public Health officials and international institutions and they hope that the problems of this hospital will be solved.

He adds: “Services are being provided to patients in the hospital, we are facing a lack of space, we don’t have a suitable place for services, we don’t have a place to store equipment. We have discussed these problems with the relevant authorities and they will be resolved soon.”
