Uzbekistan sends 100 tons of humanitarian aid to earthquake victims

KABUL (SW) – The Embassy of Uzbekistan in Kabul said in a nnewsletter on Tuesday that it has sent nearly 100 tons of humanitarian aid to the victims of the Herat earthquake.

According to the newsletter, the aid sent by Uzbekistan includes food products such as flour, wheat, oil, pasta, meat products, rice, sugar, tents, blankets and all the necessary equipment for first aid.

This humanitarian aid from Uzbekistan has been sent under the leadership of Ismatullah Irgshov, the special representative of the President of Uzbekistan for Afghanistan.

At the same time, Sharafuddin Muslim, Deputy Minister of Rural Rehabilitation and Development, while receiving this humanitarian aid from Uzbekistan, said: “The people of Afghanistan, especially Herat, will never forget the aid given in difficult times.”

Sharafuddin Muslim added: “Uzbekistan is a brotherly country and has always been the first to help us.”

The deputy minister, on behalf of the Islamic Emirate, expressed his gratitude to Shaukat Miramanovich Mirziyoyev, the President of Uzbekistan.

It should be mentioned that officials in the Ministry of Disaster Management have said that so far more than 4000 people have died and injured in Herat following the earthquake.
