Muttaqi leaves for China after the Moscow format

KABUL (SW) – Amir Khan Muttaqi, interim foreign minister of the Islamic Emirate, has left for China after attending the Moscow format meeting in Russia, confirmed an official.

Zia Ahmad Takal, Deputy Spokesman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Afghanistan, noted on his “X” user account on Tuesday that Amir Khan Muttaqi, the Acting Minister, is at the head of a delegation to participate in the third “Trans Himalaya” meeting in Zhangxi, China.

He said that Mr. Muttaqi traveled to China at the official invitation of Beijing to participate in this meeting. He added that economic relations, regional connectivity and ecological changes will be discussed in this meeting among the representatives of the countries around the Himalayan mountains.

The Deputy Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that Amir Khan Muttaqi will meet with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of China and representatives of other participating countries on the sidelines of this meeting.

The third meeting of “Trans Himalayan International Cooperation Assembly” will be held between the 4th and 5th of October. It has been said that this meeting will be held in the autonomous region in “Tibet”.
