New online taxi service thriving in Kabul

KABUL (SW) – Officials of the “Online Menzel” taxi service said in an interview with Salam Watandar that they have started operating in Kabul since a month ago, and 4 to 5 taxis are operating at different intersections of Kabul city to transport passengers from one route to another.

Hamed Dezeen, the marketing manager of “Online Menzel” taxi service, said that they currently have 300 to 350 customers in the central routes of the city.

He added: “We have 4 to 5 taxis to transport passengers daily at all the intersections of Kabul city, and we operate specifically on the routes of Shahr Nau, Taimani, Arzan Qeemat and Sarai Shamali.”

Noman, a resident of Taimani area of Kabul city who uses “Online Menzel” taxi service, said that he has downloaded Menzel online taxi application on his smartphone and from now on, he can go anywhere in the city he needs through this aapplication as he calls a taxi to the gate of his house and travels to the desired place.

He added: “If I want to go to the city from home, I ask for a taxi to my home through the online taxi application and go to the place of my choice.”

Abdul Salam, a resident of Kabul, said that “Online Menzel” taxi service has determined the price of taxis based on kilometers and 30 afghani per kilometer has been set.

He added: “The convenience of online taxi services is more and we go from one route to another with ease and we ask people to support this service.”

However, the officials of the “Online Menzel” taxi service say that the driver’s ID, driver’s license and driver’s registration are registered with them, and citizens can easily travel from one place to another.

It should be mentioned that before, “Bubar” online service was operating in Kabul city, but after four years of operation, with four thousand customers, it stopped its operation due to economic problems.
