KABUL (SW) – A charity foundation that taught computer skills to 145 underprivileged youths for free celebrated their retirement in a ceremony.
The officials of “Javid Ibrahimi” Charitable Foundation and Education School state that the motivation and purpose of holding such programs is to help the underprivileged youth and provide them with technical training.
Javed Ebrahimi, the head of this charitable foundation, says that in the near future they have decided to launch religious and modern science programs for girls as well.
He adds: “When we develop the course, we decided to provide free services to 3,000 people. Today we finished the first round, not only in this province, but in several provinces we have this plan. We want to provide training for them so that no one has to worry that they don’t have money and were deprived of education.”
Meanwhile, the young people who have graduated from this school expressed their concern about the lack of job opportunities and asked the authorities to provide them with job opportunities.
Nasir Ahmad Ahmadzai, one of the students of this charitable foundation who has now graduated after completing a four-month course, said that the lack of work is killing skills.
According to him, the opportunities for jobs in governmental and non-governmental institutions is very limited and the government should pay attention to this issue.
Nasir Ahmad added: “I studied here for four months. In the department of advanced and basic programs, we studied at database departments. The chances for jobs in the public sector and the private sector are very limited.”
Tariq, another student of this charitable foundation, said that he has obtained many degrees, but so far, the field of work has not been provided for him and he has not been able to use his skills. He added: “We are very worried. I have many documents, I stay among the documents. There is no hope of finding a job and I want to work at the international level.”
Experts believe that instead of cash and financial aid, youth should be helped fundamentally through education. Jamshid Rasa, a doctor and sociologist, says that financial and cash donations make people lazy and beggars. He added: “Giving bread will not reform this nation and solve their problems. Whatever we do, we must pay close attention to its results. We should try to teach each other through the science of finding bread, like this institution has done.”
In addition to this training, the “Javid Ibrahimi” Charitable Foundation has also provided jobs to 100 women. According to JIC, the educational programs of this institution are supposed to be expanded at the level of the provinces.
