KUNDUZ CITY (SW) – A number of residents of the third district of Kunduz city sayd the lack basic health services and the little available services are hard to get for the residents.

A number of Kunduz residents told Salam Watandar that the health workers do not take care of the patients properly and misbehave with the patients’ companions. Mohammad Salim, a resident of the third district of Kunduz city, said that the employees of “Bagh Company” health center do not take care of the patients properly and do not behave properly with the patients’ companions. According to him, the employees of this health center ask for “gifts” from patients and do not provide services to patients until their demands are met.

Mohammad Salim added: “Doctors/physicians ask for gifts and some agricultural products in exchange for the health materials they give to patient. They treat people very badly, they don’t have morals, they annoy people a lot. They don’t give time to someone who is right in the examination room to not fulfill the personal wishes of the doctors. People are very annoyed, they say we don’t go to the clinic anymore because the doctors don’t pay attention to us.”

Ahmad Farid, another resident of the third district of Kunduz city, also complained about the harsh behavior of the employees of “Bagh Company” health center and asked the government to take care of people’s problems. According to him, midwives and other doctors are present in this clinic, but they do not take care of the patients and treat them inappropriately.

Meanwhile, the officials of the Kunduz public health department say that their monitoring teams are checking the health centers of Kunduz city and the districts of this province every day, and if any violation is observed, the offenders will be dealt with seriously.

Rehmatullah Tutakhil, acting director of public health of Kunduz, did not deny the problems in the health center “Bagh Sherkat”, but he said that action will be taken soon to solve such challenges. He added: “Of course, the health sector is a very large sector and many people visit the clinics. There are these kinds of small problems, but, Alhamdulillah, we have the leadership of public health monitoring teams and these teams do their own work and activities. Wherever there are such problems or people’s dissatisfaction, we will pursue and advise the responsible person not to do such irresponsibility.”
