Islamic Emirate reacts to remarks by Pakistani envoy

KABUL (SW) – Asif Khan Durrani, Pakistan’s special representative for Afghanistan, has said in an interview with a television network that the United States can use Pakistan’s airspace to destroy “terrorists” in Afghanistan based on the United Nations Security Council resolution.

Asif Durrani made these statements in an interview with “Pashto 1” TV and added that although Afghanistan is an independent country, according to him, the caretaker government there should not be angry with Pakistan in this regard. He said in this interview: “Based on the UN Security Council Resolution No. 1368 and 1373, it is allowed and the world is committed to it. You have to make it clear why there are terrorists in your land.”

However, the caretaker government of the Islamic Emirate has strongly reacted to the recent statements of Pakistan’s special representative and said that they will not allow anyone to attack Afghanistan.

Bilal Karimi, deputy spokesman of the Islamic Emirate, told Salam Watandar that Afghanistan has a peaceful policy and according to him, it will not remain silent in the face of any attack on Afghanistan by any side or country. He said: “Afghanistan is an independent country, and after this, if anyone violates the Afghan air space, it will be punished and the government will not remain silent and will not allow anyone to commit such violations in any name and in any way.”

Analysts believe that if the interests of the member countries of the UN Security Council are not safe in Afghanistan and are under threat, they will take action on it and Pakistan would also provides the opportunity for that.

Shamsha Aziz Kazmi, a researcher of strategic studies and national security, said Pakistan is dissatisfied with the actions of the caretaker government in Afghanistan and Islamabad is a partner of American interests in Afghanistan. He said: “The member countries of the UN Security Council are afraid of the issue of terrorism, and if there are terrorists in Afghanistan according to their claim, they can vote positively to fight against them. Pakistan is trying to put the Islamic Emirate under pressure through such decision of the UN Security Council.”

On the other hand, political affairs analyst Najibul Rahman told Salam Watandar that the caretaker government of Islamic Emirate should cooperate with the international community to ensure that there is no threat from Afghanistan. He said: “If it is decided that Pakistan’s airspace will be used against Afghanistan under the pretext of fighting terrorism, it is beyond the power of the government under the current circumstances. The caretaker government should cooperate with the international community to ensure that Afghanistan does not face any threat.”

The special representative of Pakistan also said that based on the resolution of the UN Security Council, the United States killed Ayman al-Zawahiri, the leader of the Al-Qaeda network. in the Sherpur area of Kabul.
