KABUL (SW) – Zabihullah Mujahid, the spokesman of the Islamic Emirate, has announced on his Twitter that special forces have carried out operations against the hideouts of the Daesh group in the fifth, sixth and eighth districts of Mazar-e-Sharif city, the center of Balkh, late last night.

According to the spokesman of the Islamic Emirate, as a result of these operations, a number of Daesh members have been killed. He added that as a result of these operations, some weapons and ammunition belonging to Daesh members fell into the hands of the Islamic Emirate forces.

Zabihullah Mujahid also wrote that an Islamic Emirate force was also injured as a result of these operations. However, the spokesman of the Islamic Emirate did not say anything about the exact number of the killed members of Daesh.

Daesh has not yet said anything about the operations of the Islamic Emirate’s special forces against their members in Mazar-i-Sharif.

It should be mentioned that Daesh carried out two attacks in Balkh in the last 10 days. This group killed three people, including Mohammad Dawood Mozmal, the governor of Balkh, in a suicide attack and injured several people.

The group has also taken responsibility for the explosion in the gathering of journalists in Tabian cultural and social center in Mazar-e-Sharif, as a result of which three people, including two journalists, were killed and at least 16 other journalists were injured.
