KABUL (SW) – Officials at the disasters management authority say that the death toll from extreme cold has reached 104 people in 16 provinces of the country.

Shafiullah Rahimi, the spokesman of the disasters management authority, said in a statement that 50 residential houses have been destroyed and more than 70,000 livestock have been destroyed.

It should be said that the cold weather this winter is described as unprecedented. This comes as more than half of the population of Afghanistan needs humanitarian aid, and on the other hand, the activities of a number of relief organizations have been stopped due to women being prevented from working.
