KABUL (SW) – The officials of the Afghanistan Railway Department, by signing a contract, handed over the responsibility of maintenance and maintenance of the Hayratan-Mazarsharif railway project to a Kazakh company.

According to the officials, this contract is for 2 years and Mansour Fateh company is obliged to maintain and take care of the railway line of Hayratan-Mazar Sharif during this period for USD 8.375 million.

Bakht al-Rahman Sharaft, head of the Afghanistan Railway Department, said on the occasion the company has representation in Afghanistan and Kazakhstan. “It operates on the route of the Haritaan-Mazar-Sharif railway project and the Islamic Emirate pays this company for the services it provides.”

Earlier, an Uzbek company was responsible for the management, maintenance and care of the Hayratan-Mazarsharif railway project.

Officials of the Afghanistan Railway Administration say that due to the high price of this company’s contract and problems in the supply of services, the contract with the Uzbek company has not been renewed, and it has been entrusted with this company, which takes less money and offers more services.

Bisanbai Makhanov, Vice President of Mansour Fateh Company, said that due to the newness of the Afghan railway, which still lacks basic infrastructure, we partnered with a Kazakh company that has a lot of experience in the railway sector.

Haritaran-Mazar-Sharif railway line in Haritaran port is one of the important commercial ports of Afghanistan, and according to the information of the Afghanistan Railway Administration, about 1.4 billion Afghanis in revenue has been collected in the last six months here.

At the same time, the officials say that preparations have been made to start transfers via the Khawaf-Herat railway line, and in the coming days, after the approval of the Iranian government, the transfer of goods will also begin via this route.
