Sirajuddin Haqqani meets the BBC team in Kabul

KABUL (SW) – The Ministry of Interior has announced in a news bulletin that the Acting Minister of the Ministry, Sirajuddin Haqqani, has met with Jackie Martins, the head of the BBC’s South Asia Department.

According to the newsletter, the Acting Minister of Interior, while welcoming Martins, said that the BBC is an important media at the international level and it is better to be neutral in covering events, especially the events in Afghanistan.

Mr. Haqqani added: “BBC is an important media at the international level, but we want the international media, which has wide coverage, to be really impartial, especially about Afghanistan, that’s what we expect.”

The Acting Minister of Interior assured the BBC team of cooperation and said that the Islamic Emirate has made good progress; “But unfortunately, the international media paint political color to some domestic and non-political issues.”

The head of BBC’s South Asia department also said in this meeting: “Afghanistan is important to us, we try to cover many developments and events.”
