LASHKARGAH (SW) – A businessman in Helmand has built a school for orphan children in the province.

This businessman, whose name is Mohammad Eisa, has established a school in Lashkargah city, the center of Helmand, which provides educational services for 700 children.

Mr. Eisa says: “This school now has the capacity to absorb 700 orphaned students, of which 300 are from remote areas, for whom accommodation, food and clothing are also provided.”

According to him, transportation services have been provided to students outside the dormitory services who live in Lashkargah city.

The children who have been provided education at the Asari Omri Sciences school expressed their satisfaction and said that their families were not able to provide for their educational needs.

Olya, one of these students, said: “My father died and I have not been educated before. Now that this school is built, I can study.”

Sharifullah, another student at the school, whose face showed the happiness of being in the classroom, said that his father passed away years ago and he has not been educated anywhere.

The residents of Helmand say that there are still many children in this province who do not have guardians to provide them with access to education.

Faisal, another student at Omri’s private school, says that he lost his father years ago and has been living with his uncle ever since. But due to his poverty, his uncle has not been able to provide him with the opportunity to get education.

According to the statistics of the Helmand Department of Education, 36 private schools in this province provide educational services to children and teenagers, and nearly 300 teachers are teaching in these schools.

It should be mentioned that due to the war in Helmand in the past years, a large number of children and teenagers in this province have been deprived of access to educational services.
