“Rate of suicide and illegal killing of women has reached zero”

KABUL (SW) – The rate of suicide and illegal killing of women has reached zero, claimed a senior Islamic Emirate official on Sunday.

Abdul Qahar Balkhi, the spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, said in a series of tweets, that Richard Bennett, the UN Special Rapporteur on Human Rights for Afghanistan, and his accompanying delegation met with Shir Mohammad Abbas Stanekzai, the Political Deputy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Nothing has been said about the exact time of this meeting.

Balkhi stated that Richard Bennett thanked the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for providing travel facilities and “free access to the facts”.

According to Balkhi, Sher Mohammad Abbas Stanekzai told Richard Bennett: “There are human rights problems all over the world, from our neighboring countries to Europe, and Afghanistan is a country that has just come out of the war after half a century.”

Referring to the problems of the previous government, Stanekzai added that compared to the past, the rate of suicide and illegal killing of women, kidnapping and torture in the country’s prisons has reached zero.

Abdul Qahar Balkhi said that Stanekzai also asked the United Nations to help solve economic problems, banking restrictions, treatment of drug addicts and other problems.
