Islamic Emirate condemns attack on a shrine in Iran

KABUL  (SW) – The caretaker government of the Islamic Emirate has strongly condemned the attack by the so-called Islamic State (ISIS) group on pilgrims at a shrine in Shiraz, Iran.

This condemnation statement has been tweeted by Zabihullah Mujahid, the spokesman of the Islamic Emirate. “The Islamic Emirate strongly condemns the barbaric attacks against worshipers and pilgrims in Shiraz, Iran. It shares its grief with the families of the victims and all the people of Iran.”

According to reports, at least 15 people were killed and 19 others were injured in this attack.

Zabihullah Mujahid called the perpetrators of this event, who have carried out similar attacks in Afghanistan, “enemies of Islam and Muslims”.

“Unfortunately, Takfiri seditionists in Afghanistan have also targeted innocent people several times, they are enemies of Islam and Muslims.”

Around 5:45 PM on Wednesday, an armed attacker with a Kalashnikov entered the shrine in the city of Shiraz, Iran, and shot more than 30 people. The Islamic State group has taken responsibility for this attack.

It should be noted that the attacker was wounded after being shot by the Iranian security forces and then died in the hospital.
