Blast in a Kabul mosque injures seven people


KABUL (SW) – Authorities in Kabul confirmed that a blast in a mosque has injured at least seven people on Friday.

Khalid Zadran, the spokesman of the Kabul Security Command, confirmed to Salam Watandar that the explosion occurred in the “Sheikh Mohammad Rouhani” mosque in the fifth security district of Kabul.

According to the spokesperson of the Kabul Security Command, as a result of this explosion, seven civilians were injured.

Khalid Zadran added that the explosion occurred when the worshipers gathered for zikr prayer.

Mr. Zadran did not say anything about the nature of this explosion. The witnesses of the event have told the media that the explosion was caused by explosive materials embedded inside the mosque.

No person or group has yet claimed responsibility for this explosion.
