Road accident claims 5 lives in Daikundi

NILI (SW) – Local sources in Daikundi say that 5 people were killed and 11 others were injured as a result of the overturning of a minibus in Kotel Chabalk area of Shahristan district of this province.

Ishaq Ali Rashidi, the traffic manager of Daikundi, told Salam Watandar that this morning, a van carrying 16 passengers from Shahristan district, which was moving towards Kabul, deviated from the road and overturned in Kotel “Chublak” area of this district.

According to him, 4 women and 1 man died and 11 others including 3 children, 3 women and 5 men were injured. Daikundi traffic director added that the injured have been taken to Daikundi provincial hospital for treatment and the condition of two of them is critical.

It should be noted that one person died and 3 others were injured in a similar incident in the province a day earlier.

Daikundi traffic management officials have stated the reason for the occurrence of traffic incidents in this province is the damage and narrowness of the roads and the carelessness of the drivers.
