Two security force members killed in Herat

HERAT (SW) – At least two security force members of the 207th Al-Farooq Corps in Herat got killed and more than 18 others were injured in two attacks, sources told Salam Watandar.

According to the source, these attacks took place in areas of Ghizan, Herat city. The source added that as a result of the conflict between the attackers and the forces of the Islamic Emirate, one of the attackers was also killed.

Meanwhile, one of the doctors at the hospital of the Herat told Salam Watandar that 16 injured and two dead employees of the Army Corps were transferred to this hospital. According to the sources, two civilians were also wounded.

The local authorities of Herat have not yet said anything about the number of dead and wounded in this incident. Mahmoud Shah Rasouli, the spokesperson of the Herat Security Command, accepts the attack on the employees; But did not confirm the number of dead and wounded.

On the other hand, the Ministry of National Defense has released a statement saying that as a result of the attack on the mini-bus belonging to Al-Farooq Corps, two employees died and a number of others were injured.

Around 7:00 a.m. on Monday, the unknown armed men attacked the mini-bus carrying employees of the 207th Al-Farooq Corps.

The witnesses of the incident say that the clashes lasted for about half an hour and intense shootings took place in the area.

No individual or group has yet claimed responsibility for these attacks.
