Public servants to be recruited based on Islamic merits, says official

KABUL (SW) – Officials at the Independent Administrative Reforms and Civil Services Commission say that public servants will going to be hired based on the principles of “Islamic merit” from now onward.

Nasir Ahmed, the deputy director of IARCSC, said today in the program of the opening of the electronic examination center that for the appointment of people in government offices, the applicant’s past and Islamic knowledge would be tested.

According to this government official, applicants for government positions will be hired if they also go through the stages of Islamic awareness test.

“There, let’s check his belief, see his commitment, see his piety, see his compliance with Islamic law, see his background. These are the areas that we started discussing and it has been compiled.”

The electronic test center of the IARCSC was reactivated today after almost a year.

Saifuddin Taib, Deputy General Director of the Department of Affairs, considered it important to eliminate administrative corruption in government offices.

“The system itself announces the result, there is no intervention and the intervention is zero. Those who are qualified, the result of the exam will be announced immediately and they will be referred to the relevant departments for jobs.”
