Blast in Nangarhar claims two lives

JALALABAD (SW) – Local officials in Nangarhar said that two people were killed and 28 others were injured in an explosion in Ghani Khel district of the province.

The bomber struck shortly after 9:30 a.m. in the Shirgar Bazaar in Ghani Khel district, targeting Shah Mahmood Hijrat, the district hospital’s director, according to officials.

Ghani Khel district governor Siddiqullah told the media that two civilians were killed and 28 others were injured in the blast, including five members of the Islamic Emirate and a hospital director. He said the condition of the injured was satisfactory.

No group or individual has claimed responsibility for the blast.

A day earlier, two people were killed in a car bomb explosion in the 15th security district of Kabul with no claim of responsibility.
