Finance ministry vows to issue pending salaries

KABUL (SW) – The finance ministry of the Islamic Emirate has vowed to pay all pending salaries and pension to the public workers.

Ministry of Finance officials say they are ready to pay the salaries of government employees and retirees.

Ahmad Wali Haqmal, a spokesman for the Ministry of Finance, told Salam Watandar that in the current fiscal year, 4 billion afghanis had been earmarked for the salaries of retirees, and that the distribution process would begin soon.

The spokesman for the Ministry of Finance added that they were also ready to pay the salaries of government employees. According to him, the salaries of a number of departments have been prepared and the salary system has been activated, and the distribution process is scheduled to begin on Tuesday.

It should be noted that a number of military and civilian public servants had recently complained that their salaries had not been paid.
