Defeat of the Soviet Union has lessons for aggressive powers, says Mujahed

KABUL (SW) – Zabihullah Mujahid, spokesman for the Islamic Emirate, has said the defeat of the former Soviet Union in Afghanistan has many lessons for aggressive powers.

“We hope that the aggressor countries have learned many lessons for the future and will no longer resort to enmity and hostility with our country and nation,” he said in a statement related to the anniversary of the defeat of the former Soviet Union in Afghanistan.

The statement stressed that the Islamic Emirate has no intention of encroaching on the territory of any country and hopes for mutual respect and a security from other countries.

The spokesman for the Islamic Emirate added that the coup d’état of the Communists in Afghanistan marked the beginning of much misery, suffering and catastrophe in the country where the Islamic values ​​of the Afghan people were targeted in so many ways.

Mujahid stressed that the Afghan people had suffered heavy casualties in the fight against the Soviets, losing nearly 1.5 million people and sustaining millions more as injured and disabled.

The statement also said that the ‘Hasht-e-Saur’ is a day of victory, freedom and salvation for the people of Afghanistan. According to the statement, the Islamic Emirate condemns the ‘Haft-e-Saur’ coup and considers it the day of the country’s liberation.

The spokesman of the Islamic Emirate said that Afghanistan has been liberated from occupation for the third time in the last century and the Islamic Emirate is trying not to lose the sacrifices of the country for decades and to fulfill the ideals of the Afghan jihadists.

April 28 is observed in Afghanistan, as the day when Mujahideen rebel forces overthrew the Communist regime in 1992.
