Additional security check posts planned along the Durand Line

KABUL (SW) – Additional security check posts would be established along the Durand Line with Pakistan, said officials on Saturday.

Officials from the 203rd Mansouri Corps of the Islamic Emirate in the southeast of the country have announced it will set up new security checkpoints near the Durand Line.

Officials at the graduation ceremony of 850 fresh cadets of the security forces said that the checkpoints will be set up to secure the Durand Line in some areas of Khost, Paktia and Paktika provinces.

Mohammad Ayoub Khalid, commander of the Mansouri Corps, assured the meeting that newly deployed troops would be deployed to defend Afghan territory near the Durand Line.

He stressed that several security posts would be set up to secure the Durand Line, where he said a number of these forces would be deployed.

A few days back, Pakistani troops launched airstrikes on four villages in the Sapri district of Khost province. Pakistan also launched artillery attacks on Shelton district in Kunar province. As a result of these attacks, more than 40 people, including women and children, were killed and a number of others were injured.
