Ghazni University’s head of Sharia Faculty found dead

GHAZNI (SW) – Unknown gunmen have killed head of the Faculty of Sharia at the Ghazni University, sources confirmed on Thursday.

Sources in Ghazni say that Sayed Asef Mohtaj Hashemi, the head of Ghazni University’s Faculty of Sharia, who was abducted by unknown individuals from inside Ghazni four months ago, was found dead this morning.

Ghazni police spokesman Seyed Ishaq Saleh confirmed the matter to Salam Watandar, saying that the body of the deceased was found by the intelligence forces and had been handed over to his relatives.

According to the spokesman of the Ghazni Police Command, their investigations are underway to identify and arrest the perpetrators of this murder, and the perpetrators of the incident will be dealt with seriously and legally.

Sayed Asef Mohtaj Hashemi was a professor at Ghazni University and the head of the Faculty of Sharia at the university where he has been teaching Islamic culture and Sharia and other Islamic subjects for several years.

Hashemi’s relatives say he was abducted by unknown individuals from Ghazni City about four months ago, during which time they did not know his fate.

It should be noted that about two months ago, Merajuddin Waqar, the president of the Sultan Mahmoud Ghaznavi Private University, was first abducted by unknown individuals and about two months later his body was found in Ghazni city.
