Road accident claims 5 lives in Farah

FARAH CITY (SW) – Five members of a family lost their lives in Farah to a road accident on the main highway connecting the province to Herat, confirmed officials on Friday.

Farah security officials and some local sources in the province told Salam Watandar that the accident took place on Friday in the village of Shuz in the Khak-e-Safid district of Farah province, on the Herat-Farah highway.

Abdul Ahad Ahmadi, spokesman for the Farah Police Command, said the incident took place after a private vehicle collided with a vehicle belonging to Islamic Emirate forces, killing five members of a family and injuring two others along with a number of Islamic Emirate forces. .

A spokesman for the Farah Police Command did not specify the number of wounded in the Islamic Emirate forces. However, he added that the wounded had been transferred to Al-Farooq Army in Herat for treatment. According to him, the condition of the two injured children is reported to be serious.

On the other hand, some local sources in Farah claim that six members of a family were killed in the incident, including a man, a woman and four children. According to these sources, five other people, including the forces of the Islamic Emirate, were injured in the incident.

The cause of this incident has been said to be the sharpness and recklessness of the drivers. It should be noted that last month, two people lost their lives after a passenger bus collided with a motorcycle on the same route.
