KABUL (SW) – The statistics provided by the Afghanistan National Statistics Authority suggest at least 340,000 new biometric ID cards have been issued in the past four months alone.
The ANSA announced today on Facebook that in the last four months it has distributed nearly 340,000 e-IDs in various provinces to its applicants. The agency has said it will continue to operate as usual.
According to the Authority, the electronic ID cards are now distributed normally throughout the country and in 20 provinces (Kabul, Nangarhar, Kunar, Paktia, Paktika, Khost, Logar, Kandahar, Zabul, Balkh, Herat, Jawzjan, Baghlan, Ghazni, Badakhshan, Kunduz, Farah, Nuristan, Samangan and Takhar).
In these provinces, electronic ID cards are distributed daily to about 13,000 to 15,000 applicants. The agency said it was committed to resuming the distribution of e-IDs in other provinces after evaluating and monitoring the technical teams.
The ANSA further stated that applicants for e-ID cards in Kabul and Herat provinces can apply online and in the rest of the provinces they can submit their application forms and apply for an e-ID card as soon as possible.
