KABUL (SW) – Former presidential spokesman and head of the Government Media Information Center, Dawa Khan Menapal got assassinated in the capital Kabul by the Taliban on Friday, authorities confirmed.
The interior ministry said the incident took place on the Darul Aman road at around noon time.
The Taliban took responsibility for the killing.

Menapal hailed from the restive southern Kandahar province, and only a day earlier shared an audio clip of a Taliban leader directing insurgents in that province to shoot and hang pro-government figures indiscriminately amounting to war crimes.
Earlier on Friday, a rocket-propelled grenade hitting a passenger bus in Afghanistan’s restive central Maidan Wardak province left at least 5 civilians killed, confirmed officials on Friday
The provincial administration blamed the Taliban for the incident, however, the insurgents rejected the charge and instead blamed the security forces for it.
