350,000 children deprived of polio vaccines in Nangarhar

JALALABAD (SW) – Following deadly assault on teams of polio vaccination in Nangarhar, officials said work was underway on plan to ensure safe delivery of vaccines to the children.

According to the local officials, polio vaccination process has been delayed across Nangarhar since the attack, leaving some 350,000 children out of the vaccine.

Ataullah Khogyani, spokesman for the governor of Nangarhar, has said the local administration was trying to take care of the families of the martyred vaccinators in the first place.

We will share with you what the ministry decides in the future”, he said.

Residents of Nangarhar are also concerned after the killing of health workers and have called on the government and the people to work together to ensure the safety of health workers.
