Iran hands over 306 Afghan prisoners to Afghanistan

 

HERAT (SW) – Iranian authorities have handed over 306 Afghan prisoners to officials in Herat province.

Spokesman for the governor of Herat, Jailani Farhad told Salam Watandar among these prisoners include four women. He said these Afghan citizens were handed over to the Afghan authorities by the Iranian government at the zero point in Islam Qala.

He added these prisoners were in detention in Iran for the past number of years in connection with various types of crimes.

According to the spokesman for the Herat governor, the handing over of prisoners was in line with an agreement between the two countries.
