Seven laborers shot dead in Nangarhar

JALALABAD (SW) – Unknown assailants shot dead seven laborers in eastern Nangarhar province, official confirmed on Thursday.

Attaullah Khogyani, spokesman for the governor of Nangarhar, confirmed the news, saying that unidentified gunmen last night brutally killed seven workers at a gypsum factory in the Marghundi area of ​​the Surkhrud district of the province.

Nangarhar police chief Juma Gul Hemmat said the workers were associated with the ethnic Hazara community. He said four people have been arrested so far in connection with the killings and are being questioned by police. The Nangarhar police chief stressed that the perpetrators of the incident will be brought to justice.

A number of residents of Surkhroud district, who did not want to be identified, told Salam Watandar that unidentified gunmen took advantage of the darkness of the night to kill the workers and fled the scene.

Gulzada Sangar, a spokesman for the Nangarhar District Hospital, said seven bodies had been transferred to the hospital. According to him, there are signs of severe torture on the bodies of these workers.

No individual or group has claimed responsibility for the attack
