Mawlawi Ansari blasted for his inflammatory remarks

KABUL/ HERAT (SW) – Officials on Saturday blasted Mawlawi Mujeebur Rehman Ansari for his inflammatory remarks against the government and security forces.

Deputy spokesman for the presidency Dawa Khan Minapal has said the Afghan security forces are Muslims and are busy safeguarding virtues of Islam. In a tweet, he said any comments against them are not less than a sin.

Fatema Murchal, deputy spokeswoman for the presidency, wrote on her Twitter handle that the Afghan security and defense forces are the holy guardians of the country and that their daily struggle to defend the homeland is no less than a religious duty. “Any irresponsible comments against these brave and courageous forces is in fact irresponsible talk against the current system and is inherently a sin”.

Meanwhile, Herat Governor Sayed Abdul Wahid Qatali has blamed Mawlawi Ansari of peddling a pro-Daesh agenda. Herat governor made the remarks at a news conference in the province on Saturday. He said while many regional countries such as Iran, Saudi Arabia and UAE are moving towards modernity, no one would be allowed to push Herat backwards with such remarks.

He also warned Mawlawi Ansari against agitating Herat citizens

A day earlier, Mawlawi Ansari, the preacher at Guzargah Mosque, in a speech during Friday prayers called supporting the current system of governance as ‘a grave sin’ and called on the security forces not to work for it.
