Maiden consignment of Indian Covid-19 vaccine lands in Kabul

 

KABUL (SW) – The maiden consignment of Covid-19 vaccines from India arrived in Kabul on Sunday.

The consignment contained at least 500,000 doses of the vaccine that await emergency use approval by the World Health Organization.

Interim head of the health ministry Waheed Majroh said on the occasion this consignment would help immunize at least 250,000 individuals. He added efforts have been made to acquire more doses of the vaccine. He said the WHO approval was likely to be acquired within ten days.

According to the Ministry of Public Health, the total number of confirmed Covid-19 cases reached 55,359 on Sunday with 2413 losing their lives to it so far.
