GHAZNI CITY (SW) – At least 9 people including 4 women got killed in landmine blast in Ghazni, officials confirmed on Saturday.
Spokesman for the provincial police headquarters, Ahmad Khan Seerat, said the incident took place in the 2nd police district on the outskirts of capital Ghazni city at around 10:30 am. He said a mini-bus carrying civilians and a Humvee of the security forces were blown up by the blast.
One member of the security forces and four women were among the victims, he said blaming the Taliban insurgents for planting the landmine.
There has been no immediate claim of responsibility for the attack.
Ghazni remains one of the most insecure provinces with many of its districts witnessing regular attacks by the Taliban insurgents.
