The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Afghanistan has announced plans to plant 30,000 trees across several provinces of the country.
In a post on X on Sunday (Nov. 1), the agency said the initiative would be carried out in targeted provinces under its Relief, Employment and Vital Infrastructure for the Vulnerable in Emergencies (REVIVE) project.
According to the UNDP, the tree-planting initiative will create job opportunities, support the livelihoods of local communities, and contribute to environmental restoration in Afghanistan.
Last Monday, the UN agency announced that it would implement the second phase of the REVIVE II project in Kabul, Paktia, Ghazni, Nangarhar, and Kunar provinces.
