Bilal Rozgani, spokesperson for the Uruzgan Police Command, says a man has been arrested in Uruzgan Province on charges of killing his wife.
According to him, the suspect killed his wife and injured her brother on Saturday (May 30) in the Khoni area of Charchino District.
He added that the suspect was addicted to drugs and committed the crime while under the influence.
Domestic violence has long been considered one of the leading causes of the killing of women and girls in Afghanistan.
