On International Women’s Day, the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) highlighted that women and girls in Afghanistan are entitled to equal access to rights, justice, and opportunities, and called for these rights to be safeguarded.
UNICEF wrote today (Sunday, March 8) on X that six months have passed since the ban on female staff working in UN offices in Afghanistan was imposed.
The organization added that female staff play an essential role in delivering vital and life-saving services to the people of Afghanistan.
UNICEF also called on the Islamic Emirate to lift the ban on women working in UN offices, so that they can continue carrying out their duties.
