Afghanistan’s trade performance improves in the past year

KABUL (SW) – The Ministry of Industry and Commerce under the Islamic Emirate has announced that Afghanistan’s trade exchange in the past year has seen a positive change compared to the previous year.

In a statement released on Sunday, the ministry reported that Afghanistan’s exports in the past year were valued at 1.785 billion USD, while imports totaled 11.164 billion USD.

The ministry added that the majority of Afghanistan’s exports in the past year went to Pakistan, India, the United Arab Emirates, Uzbekistan, Iran, Kazakhstan, China, Turkey, Iraq, and Tajikistan.

The largest imports came from Iran, the UAE, Pakistan, China, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Russia, India, and Malaysia.

According to the data provided by the ministry, figs, cotton, and raisins were Afghanistan’s main export items, while diesel fuel, petrol, wheat flour, liquefied gas, cotton textiles, pharmaceuticals, oil, and rice were the key import products in the past year.
