Afghanistan rakes in over $143 million from fresh fruit exports

The Ministry of Industry and Commerce of the Islamic Emirate has announced that at least 296,000 tons of fresh fruit from Afghanistan have been exported to various countries from March 2024 to February 18, 2025.

Akhundzada Abdul Salam Jawad, spokesperson for the ministry, stated on his X account on Sunday, that in the past 11 months, Afghanistan has exported apples, pomegranates, grapes, fresh figs, apricots, cherries, mulberries, melons, blackberries, watermelons, and other fruits to 11 countries.

He added that Afghan fresh fruits have been exported to Pakistan, India, the United Arab Emirates, China, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, the United States, France, Australia, Iraq, Saudi Arabia, and Canada.

According to the ministry’s spokesperson, Afghanistan earned $143.11 million from the export of these fruits.
